IDENTIFICATION NEEDED TO CROSS:
U.S. Driver’s Licence or Birth Certificate
All children must have a Birth Certificate

PASSPORT NOTICE:
Passports ARE NOT REQUIRED until 2008 when driving across the Canadian / U.S. borders.
Passports ARE REQUIRED as of 2007 to commercially fly across the Canadian / U.S. borders.

ALCOHOL/TOBACCO
Legal drinking age in Ontario = 19 years        
Legal smoking age in Ontario = 19 years
Alcoholic beverages can NOT be consumed in a vehicle - by anyone.
Duty Free Allowance Per Person for Alcohol: (must be 19) = 1 - 40oz Bottle of Liquor or 1 - case of beer (24 cans)
Duty Free Allowance Per Person for Tobacco: (must be 19) = 1 carton of cigarettes per person
Extra Alcohol & Tobacco products will be subject to duty fees.

SPEED LIMIT CONVERSION
55 miles per hour = 88 kilometers per hour

SEATS BELTS
Are Mandatory - Fine will result

RADAR WARNING DEVICES
Are NOT legal in Canada.
Confiscation of device and fine will result.

HAND GUNS
Are NOT legal in Canada.
Confiscation of device, fine and possibly jail.

HUNTING RIFLES
Are legal in Canada.
All guns must have trigger locks installed for transportation.
All guns must be registered at the Canadian Border.

Live Minnows, Leeches & Worms in earth can NOT be brought into Canada.
Worms packed in paper for 14 days prior are allowed across border.

POTATOES
Potatoes can NOT be brought into Canada.
